[ AVENUE ANNOUNCES NEW DEVELOPMENTS & PROMOTIONS ]
AVENUE Magazine is pleased to announce the promotions of three staff members within management roles.
AVENUE is delighted to officially announce the selection of Anna Sapphire as Fashion Editor. Sapphire was chosen for this role after an extensive search from a wide field of candidates. She is a young Italian woman who entered SecondLife™, pushed by curiosity and found there a perfect environment to develop her interest for fashion and arts. Sapphire started her modeling career at the end of 2009. After learning the basics of modeling, she was immediately noticed by fashion agencies that hired her, giving her the chance to realize her dream. Her amazing career lead her to walk the most applauded runways and to model for the best fashion designers and magazines of the grid. Anna Sapphire is now a pluri-awarded fashion icon, one of the most admired stylists and respected models in SecondLife™.
AVENUE is fortunate to welcome Leah McCullough as the new Creative Director. McCullough began her SecondLife™ journey in December of 2007. Just two months later, she opened a clothing store and started her modeling training soon after. McCullough has had steady work as a model, stylist, and blogger ever since. During 2008, she was invited to join AVENUE Models and also began working as a photographer, soon becoming well-known both inside and outside of the grid’s fashion industry. McCullough’s photography work has been published in all major SecondLife™ magazines, and she has worked for many of the grid’s most renowned designers and fashion agencies. In 2012, McCullough launched HAUTE, her own publication. Leah McCullough joins us with a real life background in web design and eduation.
Xandrah Sciavo has recently been selected to take the helm of AVENUE Magazine as the new Editor in Chief. Sciavo joined the AVENUE family in January of 2011 as a writer, and since then, she has served in several capacities, including senior writer and General Manager of AVENUE Magazine, Marketing Executive, and the Coordinator for AVENUE Model Academy’s Advanced Program, as well as having been promoted to the Chief Operating Officer of AVENUE Inc. last year. Sciavo stepped into the fashion industry in the spring of 2010 by accident and was bitten by the modeling bug. Her second life and pocketbook has not been the same since, and today she enjoys working with various top agencies as a model on both the catwalk and in print. In real life, Sciavo is an educator, book hoarder, and professional daydreamer who lives in the Washington DC metro area, USA.
These staff changes are preceded by the departure of Paola Tauber, who leaves AVENUE Magazine after serving as the Creative Director, having been a part of the AVENUE family for the last five years. Tauber’s creativity, wisdom, and talents helped to elevate AVENUE to the publication it has become over the years, and we will be forever grateful for her time, dedication, and countless contributions she gave to us. We wish her the best and will always call her family.
